Under $20k and under 60,000 miles. What do you choose.

Probably an Acadia/Traverse, but would take some effort to find.

Mazda CX9. Great build quality, reliable and actually somewhat fun to drive. I used to own a 2008 Grand Touring model. It was a great vehicle.

Flex is probably the correct answer here. I would’ve preferred to recommend an MKT but I could only find a rebuilt title one on craigslist that met the requirement.

Ford Flex . I’m not fond of black, but it has captain’s chairs in the second row. Pop out the removable center console and you have easy access to the third row. It also has AWD and perforated leather. Swanky!

Can hold even more people if you get a roof carrier.

I briefly drove a top-trim gen 1 Honda Pilot recently and was very impressed with it. I doubt there’s any low mileage ones left but perhaps a second gen?

Mazda5, you could probably get one new for your budget or at about 1/3-1/2 of your budget at 60,000 miles. Take the money you save and either get a turbo installed for maximum family fun or get a nice Miata to escape all the people you put in those rows.
Really though, it's peppy, nicely built, and handles pretty well. Heck, you can even get one with a manual- probably the only car that has a manual option and a 3rd row made recently.

Lightly used Transit Connect Wagon LWB, I think.
An actual wagon would be better for MPG and handling, but those are all too old or too Mercedes.

First thought: That can’t be right, there must be something else with a third row and a stick
Second thought: Holy hell, there's nothing. Closest I can come up with is a late 90s Land Rover Discovery
